I’m terrible at telecommunications. We used to have one guy manage it in my old job, he used to stress about it all the time and he knew what he was doing.
A few months back I got a new role in a lovely business park and one of my main objectives behind the drive for them hiring me is to take on this skype for business rollout they are planning.
now, fair enough where there’s a will there’s a way but simple problems must be overcome first which is what this post is about.
Above: How polycom makes you feel when troubleshooting.
Were trying to update the phone using its own software by logging into the phone with its IP simple enough got in without a problem only problem is its firmware is out of date. Ok lets use the other update feature to get it up to a level it can use skype for business SIP addresses. NOPE. the phone(s) are now stuck in a updating please wait cycle where they fail to find what they are looking for a reboot.
next best thing to attempt is to get them to talk to the provisioning server (we’re not doing that because that is for lack of a more complex term, long as fuck) and have tried via FTP, still no luck.
