With the launch of PoF we have seen an influx of new players all wanting to get in on the new adventure, but like all good MMO’s funding your adventure can become a struggle (especially when you want a fancy gem store skin).
There are a few ways to go about doing this in GW2.
The Leather farm is a very simple kill everything job where you run around the top of the map Lake Doric (added in the living story season 3) look in the LFG tab for lake doric there is usually a commander or 3 running this route and if you’re lucky you might even fight the boss at the top for additional loot and the daily Lake Doric achievement if available.
Suggested classes to run this are the Thief with shortbow, Guardian bow/scepter or staff and my personal new favorite full shout bar Reaper with staff and daggers plenty of good AoE range on your shouts to keep painting five targets.
With the leather I suggest you salvage it and sell it on. Do not sell it as dropped you can yield far more profit putting a few more seconds of effort into your struggles by using a crafting station once you’ve finished up your runs.
Owning more than one account
WAT more than one account? are you insane! I’m fine with my 62 Asura characters on one account thank-you-very-much! Jokes aside this is a highly profitable method also, with each daily login you get the daily reward chest where you can gain the following from a full cycle of logins.
- 20 Mystic Coins
- 35 Laurels or 55 total if you select from the final reward chest from the loyalty reward.
- Tomes of Knowledge (I’ll explain about this shortly further down)
- 1 Account bound Exotic item (random picked by selecting the class equipment box)
- Various crafting materials
- 2% permanent increase to account gold find
I’ve left out a few others due to them not really giving us any profit but the ones highlighted here can all be used to help you gain gold faster via the trading post. With the laurels you will want to collect as many as possible and use them at the vendor to purchase Tier 6 bags which offer between 2-4 tier 6 materials which you can then sell on for a good amount of silver.
With the Tomes its a little bit of a personal preference. I usually level up the alts on the account to level 21 and then park them at a jumping puzzle for eternity where they have a slight chance of looting silver doubloons to sell on the trading post you could also use the tomes to create a weekly key runner once you get the level 10 quest key, delete the character and start over.
This is now ever faster thanks to mounts 🙂
Those are a few ideas and things I run myself. does anyone else have other suggestions? let me know in the comments.
